Inclement Weather Policy

One of the few rules around here is our requirement of a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel a one-to-one session or class without charge. However, in the event of inclement weather, we follow Montgomery County Public Schools policy, i.e. if the kids can make it, so can you. If the kids can't make it, we won't ask you to risk it.

If Montgomery County Schools are closed, you may cancel your one-to-one session or class without 24 hours notice. If Montgomery County Schools close early, you may cancel your one-to-one session or class without 24 hours notice provided your session is scheduled for after such an announcement has been made.

If Montgomery County Schools have a delayed opening, you may cancel your one-to-one session or class without 24 hours notice provided your session is scheduled for before that time Montgomery County High Schools would open.

You must call ahead if you wish to cancel your session or class without charge.

With respect to our opening or closing because of the weather, we are often GUIDED by (but not strictly follow) the District of Columbia Public Schools plans. If we decide to close, you will see this posted on our FaceBook page. If you plan to attend a class, we will also post class cancellations on our FaceBook page. If there is no information posted, we will be open and classes will be held as scheduled.

With respect to weekend inclement weather session cancellations, we follow the Montgomery County Recreation Sports Office policy, as we would Montgomery County Public School policy. With respect to weekend inclement center opening and closing, you should visit our FaceBook page – we will make changes as quickly as possible. School and Government closures are reported on WTOP FM 103.5 and WMAL AM 630.
